Your Tally Data NEVER Leaves Your Computer

This is our core promise. The Optriq Connector runs on your Windows PC and communicates with Tally Prime locally. Your ledger, vouchers, party masters, and financial data are read from Tally on your PC and stay on your PC. No ledger data is uploaded to, stored on, or transmitted through Optriq’s servers.

1. Who We Are

Orionwave Private Limited (“Optriq”, “we”, “us”) provides Roy, an AI-powered Tally operator that works through Telegram. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian law.

2. What Data We Process

2.1 Data processed in the cloud (not stored)

The following data passes through Optriq’s cloud servers to process your requests. It is used only for that specific request and is not stored after the response is sent:

Important: We use third-party AI services (Anthropic, OpenAI, Sarvam AI, Google) to process your messages, voice notes, and bill images. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not send your Tally ledger data to these providers — only the specific message, voice note, or image you send to Roy.

This data never leaves your computer unless you explicitly share it (e.g., via the “Report a Bug” feature, which attaches a sanitised log excerpt).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to:

  1. Provide the Roy service — process your chat messages and deliver responses
  2. Maintain your account — manage your license, pairing, and subscription
  3. Fix bugs and improve the service — using anonymised error logs and crash reports
  4. Contact you about your account — service updates, billing, and support

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data to anyone
  • Use your business data to train AI models
  • Share your Tally data with any third party
  • Profile your business for advertising purposes
  • Access your Tally data unless you send a specific request to Roy

4. Legal Basis for Processing (DPDP Act)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:

  • Consent: You provide consent when you sign up for Optriq and pair your Telegram account
  • Contractual necessity: Processing your chat messages is necessary to provide the Roy service
  • Legitimate interests: Debug logs and error reports are processed for service reliability

All cloud infrastructure is hosted in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1) region. Your data does not leave India for primary processing. Third-party AI services may process data in their own data centres — refer to their respective privacy policies.

7. Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  1. Access — Request a copy of your personal data we hold
  2. Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  3. Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data
  4. Withdraw consent — Stop using Roy at any time; uninstall the Connector; block the Telegram bot

How to exercise your rights

Email support@optriqai.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and specify what you’d like us to do. We will respond within 72 hours.

How to delete your data

  1. Uninstall the Optriq Connector from your Windows PC (Settings → Apps → Uninstall)
  2. Delete local data: Remove the %AppData%\Optriq\ folder
  3. Delete cloud data: Email support@optriqai.com with subject “Delete My Data”
  4. We will delete all your data from our servers within 7 working days and confirm by email

8. Data Security

We protect your data with:

  • Encryption in transit: All connections use TLS 1.2+ (HTTPS / WSS)
  • Encryption at rest: Database and backups are encrypted (AWS RDS encryption)
  • Access control: Server access is restricted to authorised personnel only
  • No persistent storage of business data: Chat messages, voice notes, and images are processed in-memory and never written to disk on our servers
  • Local-first architecture: Your Tally data never leaves your PC

9. Children’s Data

Roy by Optriq is a business tool intended for use by business owners and their employees. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18 years of age.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the Optriq Connector app. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
